A deadly string of tornadoes has raked across at least five U.S. states, with an estimated death toll of 100 or more in Kentucky alone. The governor of Kentucky called this “the most devastating tornado event in our state’s history.” Search-and-rescue efforts are underway in several states. Thousands of families have been forced from their homes and communities during the busy holiday season.
World Vision responded immediately. We deployed a convoy of three truckloads of relief supplies from our Chicago and Dallas warehouses to local partners throughout Kentucky and other locations impacted by the tornadoes.
Supplies include food, disinfectant wipes, hand sanitizer, bleach, Family Emergency Kits, hygiene kits, personal care items, diapers, heaters, blankets, solar lights, coolers, mini-refrigerators, and toys.
