Help Provide Clean Water to Zambia

Give women and girls the opportunity to live life in its fullness with access to clean water.

Tragically, access to clean water is still one of the most critical health issues of our time.

Women are disproportionately impacted by the lack of access to clean safe water. Collectively, they spend an estimated 200 million hours hauling water every day - hours that they can't spend getting an education, learning a skill, or earning an income.

There are a lot of complex problems in the world, but providing a clean water source in a community is something World Vision knows how to do - and does it it more than any other non-governmental group. World Vision reaches one new person with clean water every 10 seconds, and they have made a commitment to bring access to everyone they work with in Zambia by 2030.

Zambia is a land-locked country in southern Africa. It's home to the mighty Zambezi River and world-famous Victoria Falls, yet 40% of Zambians lack access to clean water. This lack of clean water is keeping people, communities, and the entire nation from moving forward in development.

Our Community: Chongwe South Area program is located in Chongwe District of Lusaka province.  Situated 65 km south of Lusaka, the capital city of Zambia. Most people in the area program are farmers with vegetable production and cattle rearing.

In Zambia, women and girls spend most of their time walking to draw water, which is often contaminated with life-threatening diseases. When women spend hours every day hauling water, their choices in life are very limited. Girls have to balance hauling water and school, and sometimes miss school overall. Providing access to safe, clean water is the pathway to realizing Gender Equality and empowering women and girls to live life in its fullness.

There is really no better investment to empower women and girls than to bring them clean water.

DONATE NOW

Our investment of $15,000.00 will provide a community water access that will change the lives of all, especially for women in girls that reside in the community.
