Hurricane Ian, one of the most powerful hurricanes to hit the U.S. in decades, made landfall in southwest Florida with devastating winds, flooding rainfall, and life-threatening storm surge that submerged city streets, vehicles, and homes along the state's Gulf Coast.
World Vision's local emergency response teams have pre-positioned supplies at sites around the world, including the U.S., to ensure emergency teams can begin responding immediately when disaster strikes, promptly dispatching emergency relief supplies and other aid.
World Vision staff are on the ground working closely with local partners to reach the most vulnerable. Truckloads of emergency aid are being shipped from our product warehouses around the country to Florida, where partner locations will receive the relief supplies.
