World Vision and our partners commit to finish the job and reach everyone, everywhere we work with clean water in Honduras. We will reach 650,000 people by 2027, more than half of the people lacking clean water in the rural areas of the entire country.
For more than 35 years, World Vision has been committed to stand in the gap, globally leveraging resources and locally working alongside communities to ensure millions of children around the world have access to clean water, dignified sanitation, and healthy hygiene practices.
To address the need for clean water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) in Honduras, World Vision focuses on four intervention areas.
Water Supply
Governance and Finance
Sanitation and Hygiene
Water Security and Resilience
It is our aim, over the next six years (FY22-FY27), that through these interventions we will see:
130,000 new or rehabilitated water points built in communities, schools, and healthcare facilities
1,000 schools gaining access to clean drinking water on-site
125 healthcare facilities gaining access to water on premises, providing water essential for cleaning and handwashing
Together with the government of Honduras, local partners, and donors, we can provide lasting clean water to 650,000 people in Honduras, along with improved sanitation and hygiene practices.
