Hurricane Laura made landfall near the Texas-Louisiana border early Thursday as a category 4 major hurricane, with a maximum sustained wind speed of 150 mph. In its wake, over 800,000 were left without power, as well as widespread structural damage.

Almost exactly three years ago, Hurricane Harvey devastated Houston, Texas, which could be in for another shock this year. And 15 years ago this week, Hurricane Katrina struck New Orleans.

  WORLD VISION'S RESPONSE

World Vision is gearing up to respond and has filled a truck container in Dallas with disaster supplies like emergency food kits, tarps, soap, diapers, generators and more.

Help provide urgent help to children and families who are impacted by Hurricane Laura and other disasters. Together, we can ensure rapid delivery of these supplies as well as long-term support to help vulnerable families as they recover.

You can bring hope and restoration when disaster strikes.
