Hanson McClain - Clean Water for Ethiopia

Ethiopia has Africa’s second highest population—94 million people with 80 percent in rural areas. Despite major economic and social improvements, 25 million Ethiopians remain trapped below the international poverty line of $1.25 per day.

Certain regions are severely water-stressed, and others have groundwater at excessive depths (more than 650 feet). Plus, Ethiopia is experiencing severe drought with ongoing concerns with climate changes. This is a major factor in high rates of child and maternal disease and death in this nation.

World Vision is the world’s largest non-government organization providing safe water every 10 seconds – and confirmed by university studies and Forbes magazine as the most sustainable and impactful.

World Vision is delivering technical solutions in the most needed parts of Ethiopia and operates several drill rigs with compressors and support trucks, which can be mobilized to areas where finding viable water sources is most difficult.

Access to clean and safe water will construct:

-Manually drilled wells-

-Shallow and deep boreholes-

-Spring protection systems-

-Large-scale piped-water systems distributed to taps-

-Rainwater harvesting (for public buildings)-

Every child deserves clean water

Please join us to help bring clean water to Ethiopia.
