In 2015, our world changed. With only our 19 year-old living at home with us at the time, we found we would be unexpectedly starting all over again. November 3rd, 2015 #surprisebabyguest joined our family. It has been an amazing journey so far.
Over the last few months, I have loved watching him learn and grow and explore the world around him. As we approach his 1st birthday, though, I think about all the children out there who don’t have access to even the very basic things needed for a healthy sustaining life.
I am able to go my faucet and get nice filtered water any time for my little guy but more than 1,000 children under age 5 die every day from diarrhea caused by unsafe water. That’s more than AIDS and malaria combined. Clean water, basic sanitation, and hygiene education are some of the most effective ways to prevent child disease and death.
As we celebrate our little guy’s 1st birthday, though I am sure he would love new toys to explore and books to read, we recognize those things are temporary and we choose to celebrate him instead by giving life to others.
Only $50 can provide someone with clean water for life. To celebrate his 12 months of life with us, our goal is to raise enough for 12 people.
We would like to invite you all to celebrate our #surprisebabyguest with us by helping us raise money for clean water with donations starting from $5 on up.
