Welcome to Lansing Christian’s fifth hour page! We are sophomores at Lansing Christian School working with WorldVision, and we’re delighted to use this opportunity to help people around the world. Your commitment to reading through this page is appreciated and we hope you consider donating to our and WorldVision’s cause. 

Over the last 13 years, the LCS Biology classes have managed to raise over $67,000–that is so many people helped! Here is some information regarding our mission and what WorldVision has accomplished, and what we’re doing to raise money.

WorldVision is a corporation focused on eliminating poverty in developing countries, to raise money for clean water across the world. We are doing this because globally, 771 million people lack access to clean water (Reid). More than 800 children under 5 die every day from diarrhea caused by contaminated water, horrible sanitation, and unsafe hygiene practices (Reid). In past years diarrheal diseases have killed millions of people in WorldVision’s targeted areas–most of them children (Bitton). 

    In 1994 WorldVision began working in Rwanda to assist with the country’s rehabilitation around the Rwandan genocide, and since then WorldVision has managed to improve education for nearly 85 thousand children, provide clean drinking water through water wells, and teach Rwandans how to care for their sanitation sites (WorldVision). WorldVision plans to do this with all of the countries they occupy and hopes to provide for everyone in each of those countries. 

Our goal is to raise money and awareness for this water crisis. We are hoping to accomplish this by selling items at school lunch, fundraising, and gathering donations through this website. The money we raise will go into WorldVision’s efforts to systematically remove the dirty water crisis from the globe. 

You can donate anytime between November 27th, 2023, to December 20th, 2023. The money will be going to clean water solutions in WorldVision’s plan to help Zambia. It only takes 50 dollars to give someone a lifetime of clean water–your support could help communities bounce back from the alarming conditions that endanger millions of people.
