Hurricane Dorian is tracking through southern Atlantic waters heading toward the U.S. Southeast. With warm water and no obstacles ahead, conditions are right for the storm to strengthen to a dangerous major hurricane before projected landfall on Labor Day. Hurricane Dorian strengthened to a Category 3 storm on August 30th and is projected to become a Category 4.
You and your chuch can take action to help those affected by the Hurricane. First and foremost, we encourage you to please pray for people affected by tropical storms and hurricanes. Almighty Father, we ask for Your care and protection for people affected by destructive winds and floods. Give them the assurance of Your presence and equip those who will provide relief and assistance after the storm passes.
World Vision is positioned and equipped to respond to disasters across the United States, including impending Hurricane Dorian. The expected landfall range covers the entire eastern coastlines of Florida and Georgia. World Vision has a load of pre-positioned relief supplies in Georgia ready to be mobilized once the storm has passed. Your church's donation can help provide supplies such as:
World Vision, stewardship is an integral part of everything we do. In rare cases where donations exceed what is needed, or where local conditions prevent program implementation, World Vision will redirect funds to similar activities to help children and families in need. The multiplying effect from grants and donated goods may change throughout the year on identical or similar offers due to variations in the start and end dates of donor grants and our programs.
