Dorian entered the eastern Caribbean Sea on Tuesday, August 27, triggering hurricane and tropical storm warnings for both Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. Hurricane Dorian, now a Category 5 storm, is tracking through southern Atlantic waters and heading toward the U.S. Southeast. The potential of high winds and heavy rainfall could cause life-threatening flooding and its impact will continue to be felt for many days after its initial arrival.
