URGENT: HELP St. Croix Collections AND WORLD VISION RESPOND TO THE UKRAINE CRISIS

World Vision is on the ground in Eastern Europe preparing to meet the needs of vulnerable children and families who have been forcibly displaced due to the escalating crisis in Ukraine.

Children and their families are bearing the brunt of the escalating crisis in Ukraine. People across the country have fled their homes, with tens of thousands having fled to neighboring countries just a day after the conflict escalated. The U.N. estimates the wave of refugees could reach 4 million.

WORLD VISION'S RESPONSE

World Vision is working in Eastern Europe, where we’re ready to support those affected by this crisis. We assisted 3.2 million people across the Middle East and Eastern Europe last year with emergency response programs and are ready to respond to this crisis well, with a focus on protecting the most vulnerable.

Specifically, we are preparing to support refugees in Romania, where we aim to help people with essential aid, including emergency assistance packages, and educational and psychological support. World Vision is developing options for working with partners in Moldova and Ukraine to support the displaced there. We are engaging closely with the U.N. and other partners to closely monitor the unfolding crisis and its potential humanitarian demands. We’re also supporting our offices across the region, including Georgia and Armenia — knowing that the impacts of this crisis, from both a humanitarian and economic perspective, may have a significant ripple effect.

World Vision Romania humanitarian responders are at the Ukraine-Romania border accessing the current situation and providing immediate support to refugees.
