Jesus, our Lord and Savior, commands us to "do to others as you would have them do to you" (Matt. 7:12).  If I had to flee from my home just as the Syrian refugees have done during the past few years, with only my family and a few small items, I would hope and pray that others would help us by providing food, water, shelter, clothing, and care.  Wouldn't you?

Together, as Avon UMC, we can prayfully support the refugees through the ministry of World Vision.  By combining our efforts, we'll be far more effective than we could be alone.

With every dollar we give Jesus' words should ring in our ears, "whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers {or sisters} of mine, you did for me" (Matt. 25:40).

Thank you for helping refugees in need!  May God multiply our gifts for His glory.

Your brother in Christ,

Rob
