World Vision comes alongside local governments to strengthen formal education systems and is a leader in providing informal educational opportunities for children. These opportunities include learning activities outside of school hours in regions where children need additional educational support, have been out of school, or are unable to access formal education. World Vision's work includes supporting curriculum-based learning, providing learning tools and supplies, training teachers, facilitating community-based education programs that help children develop essential life skills, and encouraging families and communities to actively support children's educational opportunities.
